Sleepy Galapagos Sea Lion at Aventura Lodge, Santa Cruz (Weekly Photo)

Galapagos Islands Animals, Galapagos Marine Life, Santa Cruz Island

Dena took this closeup shot on Santa Cruz Island. The hotel is a pretty amazing place. There is wildlife everywhere – and of every type. Expect to see: pelicans, geckos, marine iguanas, Sally Lightfoot crabs and sea lions. The sea lions are the largest and (I think because they are mammals) are the biggest draw to visitors.

Despite being wild, the sea lions have become somewhat accustomed to having people around. This sleepy fellow didn’t seem to mind the numerous guests and photographers snapping his picture. I guess he was tired out from his morning swim.
