Sally Lightfoot Crab, Under the Deck (Galapagos Weekly Photo)

Galapagos Islands Animals, Galapagos Marine Life, Santa Cruz Island, Weekly Photo

Not much needs to be said about this picture. The Sally Lightfoot Crab is one of the most comical and common creatures on (and under) the deck at the Aventura Lodge in Puerto Ayora.

Of course, you can see them along the shore on all of the islands – but there is something nice about enjoying them over breakfast. It’s worth looking in unusual places – that’s how I got this photo.

Do you like them? Have you seen them walk on water? (Yes, they actually do.)
