Learning to Snorkel in the Galapagos Islands (Weekly Photo)

Isabela Island, Things to Do, Weekly Photo

Our ten-year-old daughter Drew loves to swim, but until our trip to the Galapagos she was hesitant to try snorkeling. Even on one of our excursions – an afternoon snorkeling off in a bay on Isabela Island – she wasn’t comfortable to snorkel. So she swam along with us constantly asking what we were seeing.

The next day, we had a little time between our afternoon excursion and dinner, so Dena and Drew headed to the beach. And in a matter of minutes she had mastered the fins and snorkel. She loved the water – especially seeing the colorful fish swimming right around her. Now, she is smitten with the snorkeling bug and can’t wait until the next time.

Do your kids snorkel? Where did they learn?
