Another Sighting of the Mola Mola in Gordon Rocks (Weekly Photo)

Diving, Galapagos Islands Animals, Galapagos Marine Life

Last week our Dive Master, Rafael Gallardo,  happened upon the rare Mola Mola (Ocean Sunfish) while diving in Gordon Rocks. This one was spotted between the two rocks.

This isn’t the first sighting in the Galapagos. Just six weeks ago Rafael was leading another group of our guests on a dive when they spotted and swam with a Mola Mola. And while they are occasionally seen – it is very rare.

These pictures came out even clearer than the last sighting – by looking at all the pictures you can get a real idea of the unusual body shape of this fish. Check them out below. To view all the pictures, just click on the image and it will scroll to the next.
