Galapagos Photo Tip: Look in Unusual Places

Photography Tips, Santa Cruz Island, Travel Tips

In the Galapagos, there are animals almost everywhere. It is hard to go anywhere without seeing some great animals up close. But even with all these animals, sometimes the best photo comes from a less traveled area. It’s worth looking around, under and behind things to see what’s there. It’s worth hiking just a little further. Who knows what you might see?

In this photo, you can see Dena and Drew peeking under the deck. What’s under there? You are guaranteed to see sally lightfoot crabs and marine iguanas. We’ve seen lava (or Galapagos) herons and even a school of rays swim by. And if it’s a hot day, you might see sea lions as well. Every day you’ll see sea lions climbing the stairs to enjoy the deck.
