Tortoise Jewelry: Inspired in the Galapagos

Galapagos Shopping, Santa Cruz Island, Things to Do

Are you planning on shopping when you visit the Galapagos? Would you like to find something unique that will remind you of your vacation?

If jewelry is on your list then you should visit Tortoise Jewelry. The gallery is located in the town of Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island) and you won’t want to miss it.

One of the things that really stood out to me is that the jewelry is styled after the natural elements of the Galapagos. Some of the designs were inspired by opuntia cactus pads, arrayancillo plant leaves, giant tortoise shells and scalesia leaves. Many of the designs are handmade in the Galapagos.

Tortoise Jewelry / Jewelry by Ariana

Tortoise Jewelry gallery carries designs by other local and international artists, including the locally made Jewelry by Ariana.

Ariana uses textures inspired by things above and below the sea. Some simple things in nature have very elegant designs that are not often used in jewelry. At Jewelry by Ariana we saw some of these designs in gorgeous necklaces, rings and earnings.

Inspired by The Natural Beauty of the Galapagos

The designs at Tortoise Jewelry is some of the most unique that I’ve ever seen.

As we toured the shop we learned about the inspiration behind some of the most unique pieces. She told us the names and characteristics of the plants and animals behind the designs.

Where is Tortoise Jewelry Located?

The Tortoise Jewelry gallery is located on the waterfront in Puerto Ayora just across the street from the Solymar Hotel on Avenida Charles Darwin.
