Blue Footed Booby Feeding Frenzy in the Galapagos! (Video)

Galapagos Islands Animals, Santa Cruz Island, Videos

blue-footed-booby-feeding-frenzyWhile the term is most often applied to sharks and piranhas, a feeding frenzy can occur among most any type of animal.

In the Galapagos, one of the most stunning examples of a feeding frenzy is by sea birds.

In this video below, hundreds of blue footed boobies are feeding in the Itabaca Channel. The Channel is located on the northern coast of Santa Cruz Island, and the southern coast of Baltra Island.

This video was shot from land, on a cell phone. While this is how boobies feed, seeing so many and so close to land is very uncommon.

As you watch the video, you’ll notice that you can see them underwater as they are diving for fish.
